Crystal Maze 3D Controls

Movement, mouse look, touch controls and browser focus.

The Crystal Maze 3D controls use a familiar first-person layout: movement keys handle your position, while the mouse turns your view. On a phone or tablet, a touch joystick and action buttons replace the keyboard and mouse. Start the game on the Crystal Maze 3D home page, then choose Play inside the Y8 player.

The game’s own menu is the reference if the publisher changes a binding. You do not need to install a controller app or browser extension. Give the player focus and test movement before trying to complete a maze.

In Crystal Maze 3D, forward follows the direction you are facing. Turn toward the passage before walking into it. Use small mouse movements at junctions, and briefly stop if you lose track of the route. You can adjust mouse sensitivity from Settings rather than compensating with awkward movements.

WASD lets you keep one hand on the mouse while moving. Arrow keys are an alternative when that feels more comfortable. Choose one movement method and practice it in the first maze. Switching keys repeatedly while under pressure can make it harder to judge which direction you are travelling.

Getting the player into focus

The Crystal Maze 3D player loads only after you click Play game on this website. The page button starts the embedded player; the game’s own Play button starts a run. Once the game is running, click inside its view to send keyboard input to it and enable mouse look.

If your arrow keys scroll the website, the page probably still has focus. Click the game again, or switch to WASD. Moving your pointer over the player is not always enough. When you press Escape, the browser can release pointer lock, so another click may be needed to resume looking around.

To follow a guide while playing Crystal Maze 3D, pause first and release the mouse. Open the walkthrough, read the objective, and return to the player. This avoids accidentally walking into a trap while you are trying to use a link outside the game area.

Touch controls on phones and tablets

Crystal Maze 3D supports touchscreen play. Use the on-screen joystick for movement and the action buttons for game actions. Turn your device to landscape so the maze and touch controls have more room. The site’s Fullscreen button is directly below the player.

Try the touch controls before entering a narrow passage. Keep your fingers away from the browser’s edge gestures when possible. If the screen rotates while you play, the player resizes to fit the available area. Pause and check the joystick position before continuing your route.

A modern browser with WebGL support and access to the embedded Y8 player is required. If Crystal Maze 3D does not start, reload the page and use the direct Y8 link below the player.

Fullscreen and returning to the page

Use Fullscreen to give Crystal Maze 3D the largest available play area. Browsers that support native fullscreen can expand the player. Other browsers use an expanded page view instead. The button changes to Exit fullscreen so you can return to the normal layout.

Fullscreen does not automatically start a run or guarantee mouse lock. Choose Play inside the game and click its view as usual. To return, use the Exit fullscreen button, Escape, or your browser’s fullscreen control. On a phone, landscape fullscreen makes the touch buttons easier to use.

Controls and the maze objectives

The Crystal Maze 3D controls help you complete a three-part objective: collect all crystals, find the golden key in an ordinary level, and enter the open portal. Looking around at each junction is as useful as moving quickly. Watch the health and crystal indicators while avoiding enemies and traps.

For objective details, use the Crystal Maze 3D walkthrough. If your controls work but the portal remains closed, check your collection progress before assuming the input is broken.

Frequently asked questions

Why do the Crystal Maze 3D arrow keys scroll the page?

Click inside the running game so it has keyboard focus. The keys should then reach the player. If the browser still scrolls, use WASD and try Fullscreen. Click outside the player when you want to navigate the page again.

How do I release the mouse?

Press Escape to release the browser’s pointer lock. The game also uses Escape for pause. Click inside the game again when you are ready to resume looking around. Browser fullscreen and pointer lock are separate features.

Can I change the Crystal Maze 3D mouse sensitivity?

Yes. Open the game’s Settings menu and adjust sensitivity. Test a small movement afterward so you can comfortably turn toward a passage without overshooting it.
